Kendu leaf Kendu leaf is controlled by D.F.O Sambalpur
Kendu leaf division . Illicit cutting of branches of trees and
shrubs from Reserved forest of Bargarh district is very common .
which causes excessive damage to the forest . Increase of
population in the Urban & nearby village area increase demand of
fire wood, which led to excessive cutting. The requirement of
fire wood and its extreme shortage in different states of our
country have still been neglected subjects. According to Natural
resource forum short fall of fuel production of India by 2000 AD
has been estimated to be in order of 137 million tons, which
require 34 million, hectors of land. To save the country from
impending disaster, a very massive fuel plantation programme is
necessary. Due to defective forest policy & official negligence
illicit cutting of timer and transporting the logs by tractor,
trucks, and 3 whalers and even in the train is very common in
the Bargarh district 1 Forest of Bargarh District 1
