district consists of two subdivisions Bargarh and Padampur in
which there are at present 8 tahasils and 12 blocks, Bargarh,
Barpali, Bhatli, Ambabhona, and Bheden Block belong to Bargarh
subdivision and Padampur, Sohela , Bijepur, Gaisilet, Paikmal
and Jharbandh blocks belong to Padampur Subdivision. There
are 196 Gram Panchayats for 1208 villages out of which 1177
villages have obtained the recognition as revenue villages
