Kulta Cast
Kulta cast
is one among the oldest cast in Western Odisha,From
the past to till date Kulta cast basically
confined to cultivation . But by the time they have now
reached in a predominant position socially and economically.
Among the great Kulitas Late Professor Prahallad Pradhan of
Antapali Bargarh district is in the top.Goddess
Raneswar Ramachandi, and the principal shrine is situated at
Sarsara of Boudh District & Kamgaun of Bargarh
district in the state of Odisha, India.There are 120
family in Kulta cast.It is said that originally Kultas
belongs to the valley of Kullu. They were the established
community near the hill of Kuladri. Etymology also proves
that the word Kulta is derived from the word Kuladri. Kulta
means the community of Kuladri or Kullu valley. They were
very hard working cultivator community. Their main
occupation was cultivation. Now also people with same
customs and rituals are found near Kullu valley. Later on
they were migrated to different regions of India. But they
are mainly located in the states of Orissa, Chhattisgarh,
and Madhya Pradesh which in ancient period was known as
Dakshin Kosal.
Kulta Maha Sabha (KMS)
is an association of people belongs to Kulta Cast
(one of the oldest cast in India). KMS is unique of its kind
and in a position to serve the people of Kulta cast by
leveraging the tenets of the Kulta Cast. It offers one stop
information for all customs, traditions of Kulta cast &
Kulta Samaj. KMS has a largest pool of talent from each
domain and now in a prominent group for Kulta Cast. The only
objective of KMS is to re-unite the Kulta people and promote
the Kulta Cast relating to our tradition, customs, culture,
important news and other Information. It's our endeavor to
welcome to all those people who belongs to Kulta cast to
join hand with KMS to rediscover our culture, tradition &
our people.

given as dowry to patna Raja were Pradhan, Sahu, Naik and
Biswal. Besides that Bhoi title is also found among the
Kultas (Senapati and Mahanti, 1971:115; Senapati and Kunar,
1983:63.
